Metronome Pro is a visual metronome and setlist organiser for iPhone and iPad, created by touring guitarist and educator Dan Jones. Follow a large, colour-coded beat count, set tempos from 40 to 250 BPM, and save, organise and share song tempos and time signatures. It works offline, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases: just a one-off purchase.
40-250 BPM with a slider, one-BPM steps, numeric entry and tap tempo. Musical tempo markings accompany the BPM display.
A pulsing ring, beat number and enlarged Performance Mode. Choose your own beat colours, including colours you find easier to distinguish. Mute the click for visual-only timing.
Eighth-note, sixteenth-note and dotted-eighth patterns; shuffle feel; common and odd meters; and an optional one-bar count-in.
Digital Click, Woodblock, Cowbell and Marimba. The first-beat accent can be switched on or off.
Save song titles, tempos, meters and genres. Organise them in folders, search and reorder by dragging. Tap a song to recall its tempo and meter.
Export saved setlists as .metroset files for bandmates using the app. Import with merge or replace options. Songs and folders are stored locally.
No Wi-Fi or account needed for practice. No subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Dan Jones is an international touring guitarist, award-winning songwriter and educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. Formerly a member of progressive rock band The Dreaming Tree, he now tours with Luke Combs UK Tribute across America, Canada, the UK and Ireland. His experience includes performing with the tribute at Category 10 in Nashville in April 2025. He uses Metronome Pro in his teaching and personal practice.
Dan began building the app on tour in America after his son encouraged him to try coding with Claude. His starting point was a familiar frustration: miss an audible click and you can lose your place in the bar. A large count that pulses with the beat makes that position visible. He continued developing Metronome Pro alongside Tuner Pro and Setlist Pro.
